Colorado Symphony Orchestra brings pianist Stewart Goodyear in for Prokofiev, likely one of his concertos, paired with Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 3. Goodyear has a reputation for technical firepower and clean, propulsive playing, so the Prokofiev should crackle.
The Rachmaninoff closes things out with the composer's later, more compact symphonic voice, less sprawling than his earlier work but full of his usual melodic ache. This one happens at Boettcher Hall in Denver.
