Rufus Wainwright brings his tribute to Judy Garland to Boettcher Hall, backed by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Wainwright has spent years reworking Garland's Carnegie Hall material in his own voice, all baroque piano runs and theatrical phrasing, and hearing it with a full orchestra behind him should give the songs real weight.
Expect a set built around standards, sung by someone who treats them less like covers and more like inherited stories worth retelling.
