Peter Oundjian conducts the Colorado Symphony in a program built around two heavyweights. Elgar's Cello Concerto carries that raw, autumnal ache the piece is known for, a showcase for whoever takes the solo chair. Then Dvorak's Symphony No. 7 closes things out, darker and more tightly wound than his more famous symphonies, full of restless energy.
It all happens at Boettcher Hall, the orchestra's home downtown.
