Anthony Parnther leads the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and the Colorado Symphony Chorus in Brahms' A German Requiem, one of the great choral works in the orchestral repertoire. Brahms built it from Lutheran scripture rather than the traditional Latin mass, and the result is more about comfort for the living than judgment of the dead. Expect a full chorus, a large orchestra, and the kind of weight that only comes from massed voices.
This one plays out at Boettcher Hall in Denver, home turf for the Colorado Symphony.
