Trombone Shorty

Trombone Shorty is Troy Andrews, a New Orleans trombonist and trumpeter who grew up in Treme and built his sound on the brass band tradition of that city. His band Orleans Avenue mixes funk, rock, and jazz into something loud and horn driven, and he's spent years touring behind that mix, sharing stages with everyone from the Rolling Stones to Foo Fighters.

He's got Colorado dates coming up at the Gerald R Ford Amphitheater and Boulder Theater, a good chance to catch that horn section working a room live.
