Russian Circles bring their instrumental heft to the Gothic Theatre, mixing post-rock builds with the low end of doom and progressive metal. No vocals, just long-form riffs that shift from quiet to crushing. Primitive Man open things up with drone and doom that lean even heavier and slower, built more for weight than melody.
Together it makes for a night that rewards patience, two bands more interested in tension and texture than hooks. Loud, heavy, and worth bringing earplugs.
