Nick Shoulders brings his own strain of country music to Mishawaka Amphitheatre in Bellvue, all yodeling and old-time phrasing filtered through a punk sensibility. He mixes bluegrass picking with alt country songwriting, and he's not shy about calling out the genre's history while still loving it.
Expect a set that leans traditional in its bones but sounds nothing like Nashville radio. The Mishawaka setting, tucked along the Poudre River, gives that kind of music room to breathe.
