Quicksand

Quicksand came out of the New York hardcore scene in the early 90s and helped define what post-hardcore could sound like when it borrowed the weight of metal and the texture of noise rock. Walter Schreifels' background in Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today gave the band credibility from the start, and albums like Slip built a lasting reputation for melodic tension and heavy, searching songwriting.

The band has broken up and reunited more than once over the years, and their influence on 90s alternative and post-hardcore acts runs deep. They have Colorado dates coming up at Gothic Theatre and Black Sheep.
