Public Image Ltd

Public Image Ltd is the band John Lydon formed after the Sex Pistols broke apart, and it turned out to be the more interesting project. PiL took punk's energy and pushed it somewhere stranger, mixing dub basslines, jagged guitar, and Lydon's sneering, unmistakable voice into something that helped define post-punk. "Public Image" and "This Is Not a Love Song" remain the entry points, but the band's catalog rewards digging deeper.
