University of Denver – Newman Center – Gates Concert Hall
Gates Concert Hall sits inside the University of Denver's Newman Center on E. Iliff Ave, and it's the university's home for classical, jazz, and touring acoustic acts booked through Newman Center Presents and the Lamont School of Music. It's a proper concert hall, built for listening rather than standing around with a drink, so expect seated shows and attentive crowds.
Parking is in the garage just south of the building, entered off East Wesley Avenue. It's free for Newman Center Presents and most Lamont and DU Theater shows, otherwise plan on an $8 event fee. Skip the neighborhood streets, most have a one hour limit and towing is enforced.
Parking at University of Denver – Newman Center – Gates Concert Hall
Parking is available in the adjacent parking garage, just south of the Newman Center. Enter the garage from East Wesley Avenue. Parking is FREE for all Newman Center Presents events, as well as many Lamont School of Music and DU Theater events. For all other shows held at the Newman Center, there is an $8 event parking fee in the garage. For purchasing tickets during normal business hours, there is a 20 minute loading zone located on the north side of the Newman Center on E. Iliff Ave. Otherwise, $1.25/hr visitor parking is available on the ground level of the parking garage. *Caution* Parking in the neighborhood is not advised, as most side streets have a one-hour parking limit. Please do not park in front of driveways or your vehicle will be towed. Please do not park in the lot of the Iliff School of Theology (on the north side of Iliff Ave., across the street from the Newman Center).
