Swallow Hill Music

Swallow Hill Music sits at 71 E Yale Ave in Denver and has long been a home base for folk, roots, singer-songwriter, and acoustic music in the city. It grew out of a music school, so beyond concerts it also runs lessons and classes, which gives the place a community feel rooted in people actually playing instruments, not just watching them played.

Shows here tend toward songwriters and string bands rather than loud rock bills, and the venue draws both touring acts and local players. Worth a look if you want a listening room over a bar scene.
