Brian Fallon brings his rootsier solo side to the Oriental Theater with The Painkillers backing him, trading the Gaslight Anthem's punch for something more worn in, alt country and southern gothic songwriting built around plainspoken lyrics and a road worn voice. Ben Nichols of Lucero opens, another guy who knows how to write a sad, honest rock song.
Expect guitars over drum machines and songs that sound like they were written on a porch, not in a studio. Good pick if you like your rock and roll with some dust on it.
