Tricky

Tricky is one of the founding voices of trip hop, the Bristol-born sound he helped shape in the 1990s alongside Massive Attack. Adrian Thaws built his name on a whispery, half-sung delivery and dense, murky production, most famously on his 1995 debut Maxinquaye. His music mixes hip hop rhythms with dub weight and a real sense of menace underneath the melody.

He has kept releasing records steadily since then, never chasing trends, and he still tours behind that same restless, low-lit sound. Colorado fans can catch him at Bluebird Theatre.
