The Shins

The Shins built their name on melodic, literate indie pop, the kind of songwriting that landed them on the map largely through James Mercer's knack for hooks wrapped in strange, vivid lyrics. "New Slang" and "Caring Is Creepy" turned them into a defining band of the 2000s indie boom, helped along by a famous nod in the movie Garden State that introduced them to a much wider audience.

They've kept writing and touring in the years since, still drawing on that same warm, jangly sound. Colorado fans can catch them at Ball Arena on their upcoming dates.
