The Motels

The Motels came up through the early 80s new wave scene behind Martha Davis, whose sultry, world-weary voice carried hits like "Only the Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer" into heavy radio and MTV rotation. Those songs still hold up as some of the era's best pop songwriting, moody and hook-driven at once.

The band has kept playing and recording well beyond that early run, and they head to Mission Ballroom for a Colorado date.
