The Jayhawks

The Jayhawks came up in Minneapolis in the 1980s and became one of the defining bands of alt country, pairing close vocal harmonies with jangly, melodic guitar rock. Gary Louris and Mark Olson built a songwriting partnership that drew comparisons to Gram Parsons and the Byrds, and albums like "Hollywood Town Hall" and "Tomorrow the Green Grass" became touchstones for the whole americana movement that followed.

The band has kept writing and touring in various lineups ever since, still built around that same warm, harmony driven sound. They have a Colorado date coming up at Chautauqua Auditorium.
