Slick Rick is one of hip hop's great storytellers, the British born, Bronx raised MC whose exaggerated drawl and gift for narrative turned tracks like "Children's Story" and "Mona Lisa" into classics. He came up in the golden era of east coast hip hop and his style, playful, detailed, full of characters and twists, shaped how rappers tell stories on record.
