Modern English

Modern English are the English post-punk band behind "I Melt With You," one of the defining singles of early 80s new wave. Formed in Essex and part of the same scene that gave rise to acts on the 4AD label, they built their sound on that mix of jangling guitar and synth textures that came to define the era. The song's endured well beyond its original run, showing up in movies and commercials for decades and keeping the band a fixture on new wave bills.

They have shows coming up at Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre in Colorado.
