Kishi Bashi

Kishi Bashi is the project of violinist and songwriter K. Ishibashi, known for building lush, layered pop songs out of looped violin, falsetto vocals, and a sense of melody that owes as much to classical music as to indie rock. He first drew wide attention as a touring member of Of Montreal before stepping out on his own, and his solo records have carried that same inventive, orchestral streak.

He has a show coming up at Gothic Theatre, a good chance to hear that violin looping and songcraft in person.
