Don Was

Don Was has spent decades as one of the most in-demand producers and bassists in American music, working with everyone from Bonnie Raitt to the Rolling Stones, and he's led the roots funk outfit Was (Not Was) since the early 1980s. He also serves as president of Blue Note Records, a role that keeps him deeply tied to jazz even as he keeps making his own records.
