Chuck Prophet has been a steady presence in alt country and Americana for decades, first making his name with the band Green on Red before building a long solo career built on sharp guitar work and sharper songwriting. His records mix roots rock grit with a wry, literate edge, and he has kept touring and recording well past the point where most of his peers slowed down.
