Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers
Bruce Hornsby broke through in the 1980s with "The Way It Is," a piano-driven hit whose title track got a second life when Tupac sampled it for "Changes." He's spent the decades since restlessly mixing pop, jazz, bluegrass, and jam band sensibilities, including a stretch playing keys with the Grateful Dead. The Noisemakers are his longtime backing band, built for stretching songs out and following him wherever he wanders on a given night.
They've got a Colorado date coming up at Chautauqua Auditorium, a room well suited to Hornsby's more acoustic, exploratory side.
