Black Moth Super Rainbow
Black Moth Super Rainbow makes hazy, vocoder-soaked psychedelia that sounds like it was recorded inside an old filmstrip projector. The band built a following on records like Dandelion Gum, layering fuzzed-out synths and pitch-shifted vocals into something that feels warped and a little woozy, closer to a half-remembered dream than a typical song. They tend to keep their identities and stage presence mysterious, letting the music carry the weight.
They have a show coming up at Gothic Theatre, a good chance to hear that sound filled out live.
