Bill Callahan
Bill Callahan writes in a low, unhurried baritone that has made him one of the more distinctive songwriters to come out of American indie rock. He spent years recording as Smog before releasing music under his own name, building a catalog full of dry humor, sharp observation, and plainspoken lines about love, land, and getting older. His guitar work leans folk and country at the edges, but the delivery is all his own.
He has a show coming up at The Federal Theatre, a good chance to hear that voice in a room built for listening.
