Alcest

Alcest is one of the founding acts of blackgaze, blending black metal's raw intensity with the melodic haze of shoegaze and post-rock. Neige, the project's driving force, built a sound that trades blast beats and shrieking vocals for something more atmospheric and dreamlike, without losing the weight underneath it. The band helped define a genre that has since spread well beyond French metal circles.

Alcest has a Colorado date coming up at Fillmore Auditorium in Denver.
