A Flock of Seagulls came out of the early 80s new wave scene and hit big with "I Ran (So Far Away)," a song that still shows up everywhere from movies to radio decades later. That distinctive synth sound, paired with the band's equally distinctive hair, made them one of the more recognizable acts of the MTV era.
