“The goal is to make discovering live music as simple as checking the weather”

I’m the type of person who loves live music. Doesn’t matter what it is. If people are on some sort of stage vibrating air through any means of “instrument”, I love listening to it. I started building Live Music Forecast out of that love for live music and looking for a way to connect to the Denver music scene that had welcomed me in with open arms when I moved up here in 2021. (My first Red Rocks concert was Winter on the Rocks with Atmosphere, Living Legends, De La Soul & Watsky).

In my mind I wanted Live Music Forecast to be a place people could go when they’re like “Hey, we’ve got nothing to do this weekend, let’s see if there any shows we should go see”. There are so many tools out there tracking when the Big Artists are releasing tickets and what not, I wanted something more focused on the little guys and local artists and the smaller venues around the state.

As the project kept growing, I realized Live Music Forecast could be more than a simple list of shows. It could be a way to give visibility to artists who don’t have big marketing budgets, to highlight the week-to-week heartbeat of Colorado’s music scene, and to make it easier for people to actually show up for the musicians who make this state special.

I also wanted to make the experience feel approachable. Not everyone keeps track of presale codes or follows a dozen venues on social media, and it’s way too easy for great shows to slip through the cracks. By pulling everything together in one place, the goal is to make discovering live music as simple as checking the weather.

Over time, Live Music Forecast has grown into a tool I rely on myself. I use it to plan my own weekends, stay plugged into local events, and keep track of the artists who are shaping the culture here. And every time someone tells me they found a new favorite band because of the site, it reinforces why I built it in the first place.

At its core, this project is about community—artists, venues, and fans all sharing the same ecosystem. Colorado has an incredible mix of talent, from national touring acts to the bands playing their first bar gig, and they each deserve space to be seen. If Live Music Forecast helps even a handful of people discover something new, or helps an artist gain a few more fans in the crowd, then the mission is working.

And honestly? I’m just getting started.
